SETTE was born as a result of the work and commitment of a group of cable television operators looking to add more French-language programming to the TV landscape. To achieve their goal, they created the new station TVFQ 99 back in 1979.
For several years, we concentrated our efforts on programming, broadcasting, transcoding and distributing this TV station, which would become TV5 in 1988.
Since then, we have diversified our operations and today, we offer a wide range of TV-industry services to an ever-growing clientele of broadcasters, producers and distributors.
Throughout our 30 years in business, we’ve broken new ground in several areas. For example, we implemented Canada’s first private code conversion service and its first Ku-band satellite TV service broadcast on cable.
We also developed a multilingual closed-captioning service for TV5 USA, covering Latin America and the U.S., and we pioneered Canada’s first video server for the purposes of a broadcast centre.
Today, we offer several postproduction services, and we operate a multi-channel broadcast centre.
